this shutdown can happen whenever it feels like it. iv had it shut down just from sitting on the desktop. awhile ago I move buildings and changed one of my moniters refresh rate to 144 from 60. for a long while it didn't shut down. recently it started doing it again. the first time I check my refresh rate and it set it back to 60, it didn't do that again for any other shutdown again. I've seen some places saying to use event viewer, but I don't know how to actually read it. critical says the unsafe shutdown but the error says 341 in the last seven days 21 in the last hour. anyone able to help

    :)

    Event viewer

I suggest you re-install the video driver. I'll add a few words of explanation about Event viewer in a moment. They won't affect the need to reinstall that driver as your first step. Denis

  3. EVENT VIEWER ERRORS

    Hi,

There are instances that Event Viewer errors can be harmless due to the reason that it's only being listed on your Event Viewer logs for documentation purposes during the upgrade process. For us to properly assist you in figuring out if you're in the same
situation, we'd like to clarify the following details:

    • Are you encountering any performance related issues?

    • Are there any applications or programs that do not work as expected? If so, which are those?

    • Can you send us a screenshot of the errors you're seeing?

    Your reply is greatly appreciated.

PC does not shut down requires forece shut down

    Hello,

We really appreciate your patience. Let me give you few more troubleshooting steps which might apply to your situation and ascertain the cause of the issue.

    • Try removing all the external peripheral devices including all usb drives except keyboard, mouse and monitor and check.
    • Try to shut down the computer while forcing the running applications and check the results in the subsequent restart. Follow the below steps.

    • Press Windows key + X, select
Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.

    • In Command prompt type
shutdown -s -f and press enter.

If it still does not help, try to view the Event IDs in Event Viewer to check for specific events triggering the issue.

To view activities in Windows, I suggest you to open the Event Viewer. To do so, follow the below steps.

    • Go to the Control Panel and choose to click on the
      Administrative Tools icon.
    • The above action will open up a new window of the Administrative Tools where you will see the
      Event Viewer.

Please write to us with the results.

    Thank you.
