Windows 10: Can't find Bitlocker recovery key, reset computer or reinstall windows

Hello,My daughter went to open her Lenovo school laptop this morning and there was a blue screen asking to enter the BitLocker recovery key. I tried following online instructions to get the recovery key to no avail. Her personal school outlook account says "no devices linked to this account", and my outlook account says there are no recovery keys. Does this mean the school would have the recovery key or does it mean I originally setup the laptop with a different outlook account that I have no forgotten?All of her work is saved through OneDrive so I given I don't have the BitLocker recovery key

2. Did you ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key on your computer?
3. Are you not able to login to your Microsoft Account to find the BitLocker Recovery Key?
4. Are you using Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Professional?

Meanwhile, try finding BitLocker Recovery Key if you have ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key for your computer.

1. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to this issue?
   
2. What is the error message you get when you say ‘My system failed when recovering from a previous set point’?
   
3. Do you have administrative privileges on the same PC?
   

However, you can follow the suggestions below to check if that helps.

Suggest you to refer to this article to know
where to look or find the Bitlocker recovery key.

Further, you can ask someone with administrator privileges on the same PC to unlock it with their key.

If your PC is connected to a domain network (usually a work or school computer), ask the system administrator for your recovery key.

Here are the
recovery options in Windows 10.

Note: Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

Resetting reinstalls Windows 10, but lets you choose whether to keep your files or remove them, and then reinstalls Windows. You can reset your PC from Settings, the sign-in screen, or by using a recovery drive or installation media.

Can anyone give me the reset recovery key for windows 10

A quick question before we proceed:

Are you referring to the Recovery key for BitLocker or the key that needed for resetting Windows Phone?



If you are referring to the Reset Key that is needed for Windows Recovery, then I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps:

• Go to account.microsoft.com/devices.
• Next to the phone you no longer own, click I don't own this phone anymore.
• Select “I’m ready to remove my phone “check box, note the
  recovery key, and then click Remove. The recovery key will display on the page and will also be emailed to you.
• When you're certain that you have your recovery key saved, select “I’ve kept a copy of the recovery key “ check box, and then click Okay.
• Forward the recovery key email to your phone recipient.

Your phone is no longer listed on account.microsoft.com/devices, and you can remove Reset Protection during phone setup using recovery key option.
