Windows 10: Can't find Microsoft Store anywhere despite PowerShell says it's installed.

Hello, this issue started after I did a factory reset my PC after it got hacked. I completed the installlation with a few errors and the Microsoft Store icon was in the start-menu, but I couldn't open it. I couldn't find it in settings either. When I ran wsreset.exe it says that I need a new app to open this ms-windows-store link. I have watched many tutorials on YouTube on have to install Microsoft Store with PowerShell but I always get a error. Yesterday I reset my computer again but this time i choose to keep my personal files and delete all apps in hope that Microsoft Store would be there.

How do I reinstall an app that the computer says is not there but the store says is installed

I used Powershell to uninstall it again and double checked that the tile was gone. It was. Then I reinstalled it from the store. I checked in the start list and the game is listed under "recently added" and listed under "D" in the "All Apps" from the
start menu. I reset the store like Ruth suggested and tried to open the game from the store's "Open" box -- no luck. Then I tried opening the game from the start menu - no luck.

Under "Settings" and "Apps and Features" the game is not listed.

The store says that the game is installed.

The Package is listed under PowerShell as:

Full Name: A278AB0D.DragonMainaLegends_1.7.0.15_x86_h6adky7gbf63m

Install Location: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\A278AB0D.DragonMainaLegends_1.7.0.15_x86_h6adky7gbf63m

 

Re-Installing the Microsoft Store

In this scenario we would suggest you to perform these steps to Reinstall and Re-Register all Windows apps for all accounts.

1. Press Windows + X key and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
2. Copy and paste this command, then press enter:
   Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
   
3. Close the PowerShell command and restart the PC.
   
4. Open Microsoft Store and install the game.

If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check if you are able to open Microsoft Store and then install the game, refer this article to
create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Microsoft Store Install Service starts despite auto-updates disabled?

Hello, I tried setting enabled.



Even selecting the option to Turn off the Store application does not turn it off! It says in the group policy editor that it only applies for Enterprise and Education versions.

The Microsoft Store Install Service randomly starts despite App history showing 0 activity.




All background apps are turned off. I had this issue in the past and I simply disabled the Microsoft Store Install Service manually. But I would still like to see it not start by itself!

I'm not even launching any of the store apps when that happens.
