Windows 10: Can't find the source of allocated space on C: drive?

    Can't find the source of allocated space on C: drive?


    File explorer claims that I am using 91 GB of space on my 465 GB C: drive. However, I can only account for about 54.5 GB worth of data? How can I figure out where the other 36 GB is being allocated?By right clicking the folders and selecting properties, here are the sizes of every folder on the root of my C: drive.Program Files: 5.46 GBProgram Files x86: 6.02 GBProgram Data: 2.66 GBUsers: 23 GBWindows: 21.5 GB

    Unallocated Space to C Drive

    Hi Travis,

    It appears that a disk partition was created but was never assigned its allocation. Assuming there are no files stored in the unallocated partition, perform these steps to combine it with your C: drive:

    • In Disk Management, right-click on (CCan't find the source of allocated space on C: drive? :) which appears next to the
      Unallocated partition.
    • Select Extend.

    Let us know if you're able to combine the spaces after following the steps above.
