Windows 10: cant fix c/windows/system32logfiles/srt/sertrail.txt

path not found -C:\boot

can't find a vid to fix this problem

Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

No, that > bla.txt is the target file to write to. You could use a wildcard in the argument, ie c:\windows\*.txt which would list all dlls in c:\windows. But adding that to a simple right-click would be tricky.

Basically you would execute fancyfile.bat c:\windows\*.txt, fancyfile.bat would then write all .txt files to bla.txt.

3 year old Asus laptop. Worked perfectly until last week when i got the c:/windows/system32/logfiles/srt/srttrail.txt Error message after installing updates. Followed all steps outlined by michelle Vil in another thread. Steps would not complete.
Acess denied for 3rd step to fixboot. No bad clusters found etc.

Only way to fix it was to restore to factory settings after several hours of working through threads and following steps.

This lasted a week. Turned it on this morning and updates have installed and the message is back.

Now resetting to factory settings AGAIN. Am i going to have to do this every week? Why haven't Microsoft fixed it if so many people are having problems?

It's probably the residue of some infection that your virus scanner eliminated. You can get rid of the error message like so:

1. Mark the first code line below, then press Ctrl+C to copy it.
2. Press the Windows key + R
3. Press Ctrl+V to copy the code line, then press Enter
4. Repeat Steps 1 . . 3 with the second code line

cmd /c md C:\WPVIQJ~2 & pause

cmd /c cd 2> C:\WPVIQJ~2\QKVYQZ~1.TXT & pause
