Windows 10: can't fix Event 10016 - PerAppRuntimeBroker

i started to have this issue a couple of days ago, and its around the same time that my PC started crashing suddenly and rebooting while i am playing a game (usually after 10-30 minutes of playing something) which has led to even more errors since. i tried to fix it using 3 different tutorials online, using the clsid and appid provided in the log to give administrator ownership and check full control in registry, and then going to component services, going to PerAppRuntimeBroker - and under properties, security, launch and activation adding the "xxxx/xxxx" from the log which adds my windows account, and then checking "local activation"... however this has not helped and the issue did not go away or change at all. please help i dont know what else to do, im on the 1903 (18362.207) version of windows 10. here is the log:

to the user xxxxx\xxxxxx SID (S-1-5-21-675001037-3420229623-1178287157-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.



windows event viewer spams me with this same warning many times as well, look at this: https://gyazo.com/fa07a414d03953a6ecad3b8817984a5b (all these warnings shown are of this.. nothing else)



i also ran dism, sfc commands to check for corruption but it found nothing, memory diagnostic tool for ram which also found nothing. and i did the "chkdsk C: /f /r" scan but this did not fix this error.

Hi,

What implications would that be ?
It's easy enough to fix if you follow the steps correctly:

Windows 10 Event ID 10010 and 10016 Errors With DistributedCOM

No need to wait and hold your breath. MS can't be bothered with errors that appear to be random or caused by third party software really.

Event ID 10016

Solved Numerous event id 10016 errors win 8 pro 64 bit

Here is the basic outline ...

1. Search the registry for the CLSID
2. Make note of the Default Value, which is the name (ex. ShellExperienceHost, RuntimeBroker) you're going to look for in DCOM
3. Change the Owner to Administrators
4. Give Administrators Full Control
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the APPID
6. WinKey + s > type in component services > click on Component Services in list
7. Component Services > Computers > My Computer > DCOM Config
8. Change the View to Details
9. Find the name from step 2 (ex. ShellExperienceHost, RuntimeBroker)
10. Right Click on the Name > Properties
11. Select the Security Tab
12. Launch & Activation Permissions > Click Edit
13. Look for the offending user from the 10016 (ex. System, Local Service) and make sure it has the activation requested (ex. Local Activation). If the offending user does NOT exist, you have to add it and give it Local Launch and Local Activation
14. Click Apply
15. Close DCOM and Regedit
16. Reboot PC

Note: Make sure you understand the steps before doing them
