Windows 10: Can't Fix this Drive Error

So for the past couple of weeks, my ASUS laptop (purchased in October 2020) started running Disk Checking at startup. I kind of ignored it for a while and then realized it wasn't going away.

I went into drive properties > tools and then got the message "We found errors on this drive. To prevent data loss, repair this drive now". So I allowed Windows to run the repair function and restarted my PC. Ultimately, nothing got fixed.

By now I have run the DCIM scan and sfc /scannow and both of these concluded that there were no issues with my files. I also have tried running the Windows error checking multiple times. I have also used the "myASUS" checkups to scan for any issues with my drive and when checking the hardware tab under Drive Properties > Hardware it says there are no issues with my drive.

Someone help plz...

To get a clear picture of the issue, we will need the following details:

• When exactly are you receiving the error message?
  
• Have you tried connecting the drive to any other USB port?
  
• Are you able to access the drive on any other computer?
  
• What is the make and model of the computer and the HD drive?
  

In the meantime, I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below:



You can scan the drive for errors by following the steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows key + E, to open
   File Explorer.
   
2. Click on This PC on the left pane.
   
3. Right click on the HD Drive and select
   Properties.
   
4. Click on Tools tab, under
   Error Checking click on Check. This will scan the drive for error and fix them.
   

Note: If any bad sectors are found on the hard drive while Windows try to repair the sectors, data on the sectors might be lost.

CD drive error

1) Close all open programs
2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

UpperFilters
LowerFilters
UpperFilters.bak
LowerFilters.bak
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor
7) Reboot your computer
8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

And it likely has something to do with the emulated drive you have listed there.
