    Can't Format M2 Drive For Windows 10 Cyclic Redundancy Check


    Hello,


    I've looked through many articles trying to get this sorted but to no avail. My installation of Windows seemed to have corrupted User Settings and would never fully load or allow me to login. I began the process of reformatting only to get stuck at every turn. I've got an M2 SSD that I am using and I've tried everything I could find. I've changed my BIOS settings to AHCI instead of RAID. I've run DiskPart to clean the drive cleaned successfully, but running "create partition primary" gives the cyclic redundancy error. Chkdsk came back with 0kbs of bad sectors and I've deleted everything in sight but nothing seems to be working.


    Without being able to access the Windows UI, is there a way to get past this cyclic redundancy error to be able to format the M2 drive and install Windows 10?


    Any help would be appreciated and glad to provide more info if necessary.

    pls help: CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK ERROR

    Use something like CrystalDiskInfo to check SMART on the drive, however if this is an older IDE drive, SMART might not be supported. Cyclic redundancy errors are almost always uncorrectable disk errors. I suspect that the drive is failing juding from the symptoms you described.
