I notice that every one of these threads that I explore is locked with no reply. I'm hoping this is because the problem wasn't clearly described.Problem: If your monitor dpi is less than 96, you can't get true 1:1 scaling in word processor or art programs without engaging in some registry hacking.For someone who works with very large monitors and often engages in print layout and CAD work, this is a deal-breaker.The excuses I've seen are frequently tied to the fact that so many of the UI resources are bitmapped raster images and some non-scalar elements in the UI prevent the ability to downsca

Let me answer your query regarding DPI scaling.



Please be informed that you cannot force a DPI scaling on a particular app, right now there is no option to do that. If you have set a custom scaling level to 250% and if the app doesn’t support, to run the app, you have to disable
dpi scaling for that particular app.



You may follow the below steps and check.



1. You may right-click the application’s shortcut and then click Properties.

2. On the Compatibility tab, select “Disable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings” and then click OK.

3. Now check if you can use the application.

Is there a way to get windows to properly display 1:1 on a low-dpi but high resolution (48" 1080p) monitor?

I use my Win10x64 desktop for CAD and I've found that, with other operating systems, I can easily get my CAD programs to display 1:1 when the DPI is set correctly.

Unfortunately, windows only seems to support a lower limit of 96 dpi. My display is 45 dpi. My display at my office is also quite large, and only 70dpi. Resultantly, none of my word processing software, CAD software or other dimensional references have any grounding in reality.

Is there a way to correct this that doesn't involve applying a multiplier in each and every program I use where 1:1 layout for previewing or quick measurements is a necessity?

Why was the display scaling set to a lower limit of 96dpi anyway? That hasn't been even a manufacturing standard for over 20 years...
