Windows 10: Can’t get into computer because of pin error and forgotten password

    Can’t get into computer because of pin error and forgotten password


    I accidentally disabled some windows services and when I restarted the PIN wasn’t working anymore. So I had to use my normal password but I forgot that one. Then I tried to select “forgot password” but then I got the system error: error in stack-bufferI saw some solutionsShift + restart / troubleshooter/ reset pc while holding on to your personal folders which is nice but then I again need to login but I don’t know the password!!! so I am in a loop.Shift restart / troubleshooter / advanced options / system restore, also needs a passwordSo I can’t reset password because of an error but to fix

    Hi Dyari,

    Thanks for your answer.

    I tried steps of both links:

    • #1: reset PIN code
      • I see no link "reset your PIN"on login page --> I can't reset it
    • #2: change or reset windows password
      • My Windows account is not displayed at all on login page.
      • I am using a local account
    If you have any other suggestion, I would be more than happy to try.

    Thanks AYOKANMI for the information, in this case I think the first suggestion really is the most appropriate, please try to follow the step by step to recover your password and try to access again.
