    Can't get MS USB Optical Mouse working in Recovery CD


    Made Recovery CD and also Thumb Drive. When menu comes up I have NO mouse. The strange thing is Recovery CD for Macrium Reflect has Full control of Mouse (Win PE 10) ????

    99% of Forum users say swap the USB for PS-2 Mouse, then it works.

    I like my Mouse (USB) w/wheel & 4 buttons. Don't want to buy new mouse.

    And yes, the mouse is correctly recognized in the Device Manager.

    Of course I have tried to uninstall and reinstall both the driver and MS Mouse and & Keyboard Center which didn't help.

    Make sure BIOS is up to date

    Your specs say you're running Insider Preview? Is that how you built media?? You can also try one of Gandalf's recovery ISO built on a standard Windows PE. If it also works with Gandalf, couldn't help but wonder/suspect if it's an issue with your Preview version?

    One thing I've seen with USB is some things like mice and keyboards and a printer don't work well with USB 3.0 but fine in USB 2.0 ports. The BIOS has support for USB 2.0 but drivers in the OS are needed for USB 3.0. Might check which you have?
