Windows 10: Can't Get my Dell Inspiron out of S Mode. Get Button is Grayed Out

I can't get my brand new laptop out of s mode and it's pissing me off. The get button is grayed out and i would love some help. It's supposed to be easy peasy to do and can be done on this laptop. Before you give me generic advice that's already all over the internet, I've tried:


1. Resetting windows store

2. Updating windows store

3. The usual stupid method they offer for getting out of s mode

4. I am the administrator and this is my own personal laptop at home.

5. A lot of youtube videos recommendations


Any help would be appreciated. The line for tech support in 700 people long. I work full time and am going to school full time. I don't have the time to wait through that many people. About ready to go return this and buy a mac. This is ridiculous. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew I couldn't get it out of s mode.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 cannot switch out of Windows 10 S Mode

My wife just purchased a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 that came running Windows 10 home S mode. She needs to use google chrome for her work and because of S mode cannot install. We tried to switch it in the store and when we press the blue get button it changes to gray then back to then back to blue. We never get the install option. Today while I was working she went and upgraded using the upgrade from the store to Windows 10 Pro for $99 only to find that it upgraded to Windows 10 Pro S Mode and she still cannot install google chrome.
What I have tried:
1. The get button from the store
2. WSReset
3. Have updated the store and all windows updates
4. Have reset computer back to factory ( Before she updated to Windows 10 Pro S Mode)

Looking for any suggestion and Thank you in advance

 

Dell Inspiron 3147 won't wake from sleep mode

I bought a second hand Dell Inspiron 3147. It's running the A12 BIOS. I can't for the life of me get it to wake from sleep.

I tried researching this issue but nothing seems to work. I have a fresh Windows 10 Home install. I went to the Dell website and downloaded all the suggested drivers. I looked for power management settings under keyboard but it is missing on my machine. It's also missing in the mouse options. I ran the follow command in an elevated command prompt: powercfg -devicequery wake_from_any. Doesn't show the keyboard or mouse as being able to wake the machine. The touchscreen was listed but that doesn't work. The power button is listed but it doesn't wake the machine either. I set all of the HID devices to be able to wake the laptop, no go.

In power options, I tried setting the machine to shutdown once the lid is closed but it just goes black. I tried setting it to do nothing but my touchpad driver crashes after the screen turns back on. I have to reboot using the keyboard every time....


Also, suspend mode doesn't work in linux which leads me to believe it's an issue with the BIOS. Should I try reverting to another BIOS?

I should mention that I did have to take this computer apart to install a new DC jack. I had to remove the main board in order to get to the DC jack. Any chance a loose connection could cause this issue?
