Can't get Panasonic Viera TV to recognize home wifi?

I don't know, but when I try to "cast" Youtube from my phone to one of the FireSticks, they don't see each other unless they're on the same one. Or wait, maybe thinking about now - maybe it was between my normal network and my guest network - yes, maybe that was the problem I had...Yes, I think that was it. (I was a bit tired when I wrote that last post...sorry)

Forgive my not reading through all the posts....my brain got addled......I will just give my own experience.

I have a Panasonic Viera TX-P50....To use a wireless connection you need a computer with Miracast inbuilt.
To the TV in my case I have fitted a Microsoft Wireless HDMI to USB Display adapter.....then whatever channel the HDMI end is plugged into is the AV channel you must switch to....no need for passwords....just click on connect in Action Centre.

With Ethernet or HDMI to HDMI cable you can connect directly without the need of a Miracast computer.....again whatever channel the HDMI is plugged into on the TV is the AV channel you must switch to....no need for passwords.

OK guys, I think we are on our way to a solution.
First, following Simrick's suggestion in Post 27, I do have everything on a private wireless network and "connect automatically" is ON; however, there is no, repeat no, "Make this PC discoverable" to check. "Connect automatically..." is followed by "Random hardware addresses"-ON, followed by "Metered connections"-OFF

As the firesticks were not being detected by the PC, I then did: Control panel>Devices&Printers>Add a device>Adam's 2nd Firestick Tablet PC>next>the screen shot below. Problem is I don't know where or how to find the WPS PIN for my PC. Furthermore, the instructions are confusing as it also says "...you can find it on the firestick or in the info that came with it" as I don't recall a WPS pin coming with the firestick??? Problem: don't know how to do this.

So, I think the problem is that I need guidance on how to have the computer recognize the firesticks, eh? And the reason for needing this is so that the firesticks have to know that in order to "pair" with some internet sites.

Lets try this. I assume this router you rent/buy/etc is a dual band and has a guest network. I think we go back to simrick's comment on aligning network and bands.

Click on Start, Settings, Network and Internet, click on Wi-Fi on left hand side. In the right window click on your wireless network. This should open a window. Beside "discovery" if you scroll down what band are you using, 2.4Ghz or 5 Ghz?

Also please note the specific name of the wireless network you are on.

Now lets go back to the Fire Stick. I can't see any mention of WPS in the fire stick I'm reading.

So with your fire stick connected to TV and that HDMI input selected can you go to settings in Fire TV menu, then Network.

Which network and band is it connected to?

  9. I'll let you process through the info simrick has provided. From the information you provide it looks like both are on the 5Ghz band, the "name of your network-5". Likely you see the same network name with the "-5" which is your 2.4Ghz. Neither reference anything guest so both devices are on and are using the 5GHz band. Thanks for getting that info.

OK, guys, I think we are at the end of the trail. Got everything on the same wifi network. Can get the internet on the TV via the firestick. Can't get vieracast on the TV as I most likely need an access point hooked into the TV...but not a problem as I was mosrt interested in the firestick activity. Thanks for your patience and your help.
