Windows 10: Can't get path of actual apps, only shortcuts?

I am new to windows 11, on linux, macOS or windows 10 I've never had any issues with getting a path but in windows 11 I can't seem to figure it out. I am trying to get the path for one of the editors on my system and when I click "Open File Location". It takes me to a shortcut... And there are examples out there that show you can then click on the shortcut to go to the original path but apparently this does not work on Windows 11. And it seems like all I get are locations of "shortcuts". How do I find the path to stuff on windows 11? And then second, does why does Windows 11 have all these "sh

How to pin app shortcut to desk top?

I suggest you to follow below steps to change pin the apps on the desktop screen and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to perform the below steps to add the apps on desktop.

• Click on the “Start button” and locate the App that you want to pin to Desktop.
• Right click on the “App” and click on “More options”.
• Then click on “Open File location” and right click on the app, click on “Send to” option.
• Then select “Desktop (Create shortcut)”.
• Go to “Desktop” and check whether the app is located or not.

Or Step 2: To add shortcuts to the desktop

• Press and hold or right-click the desktop, tap or click New, and then tap or click Shortcut.
• Enter the location of the item or tap or click Browse to find the item in File Explorer.

Please give steps to open the paths to Program Files

If you want to open File Explorer to your C: drive without any registry tweaks, you'll need to do so from a shortcut you create.

1. Open File Explorer to This PC.
2. Right-click Winndows (C and select Create Shortcut:

Add a path to $PATH?

Yeah, I think you're right. I think the purpose of the echo command was to check if ~/bin was in the $PATH file. My problem is that I can't decipher the output and I don't know how to add ~/bin to the $PATH file.

Just for clarification, the snippet of instructions I gave is just a few steps in the installation process. Nothing is actually supposed to be installed with those steps.
