Windows 10: Can't get rid of old Teams Work or School account

I can't seem to get rid of a MS Teams account from a former employer.The account from my former employer, continues to show up as a login option when I open the new Teams. I've followed the instructions for removing old accounts, and it does not show up as an option to remove, only my current valid account does.How do I remove the old account if it doesn't show up under settings?

Can't get rid of an old work account

I had a work Exchange account which I used on my personal laptop for OneDrive, Outlook, Teams, etc. I no longer work there and I can't access the account. But try as I might I can't get rid of all the traces of it. It took me a long time to work out how to stop the not-logged-in OneDrive instance from starting and being there in the tray all the time. The latest is this notification which I get on startup:





When I click 'sign in', it takes me to a login box for my old work account, so I can't login. But I also don't have any option to tell it to forget the account.

I have checked:

• Settings > Accounts > Access work or school - nothing here; I removed the account from this section
  
• Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts - only my personal Microsoft account and personal Gmail show here
  
• For a second instance of OneDrive running - the tray only has my personal OneDrive
  

In Task Manager, I can see processes for SharePoint (which may be related - since obviously there is no SharePoint associated with my personal Microsoft account) and also a process for 'Workplace or school account' which says it's suspended.





So, how do I stop Windows thinking that I want to log in to this old account that I don't have access to?

 

Notification about work or school account whenever I start windows

Recently I have been getting the following notification whenever I log in to windows 10:

However, when I go there (or search for solutions online) I tend to end up with a step where I need to log into the specific account.

However, it is not my account but of someone who used my laptop recently, and who I don't want to bother with this.

I have full rights to my laptop, and am looking for a way to get rid of the notification.

Open the Settings App.

Go to Accounts.

Select Emails and Accounts, is school Email listed there, if it is, is there an option to disconnect (not remove) from that account?

Select Access Work or School, is school Email listed there, if it is, is there an option to disconnect (not remove) from that account?

On the left, click 'Your Info' is that school account listed on that page?
