Windows 10: Can't get verification codes for my mirosoft account.

I recently updated my bios and tried to log in to verify my microsoft account. I forgot my password and was able to recover this using an alternate email but when prompted to create a new pin it requires me to get a verification code from SMS but I haven't been able to receive any for hours now. There are no other options to switch to a different method of verification. How do I get codes? The articles told me that Microsoft agents won't help me with this. I need to get back to work and it's locked me out of my PC.

I understand you're not receiving a verification code for your Microsoft account. If your security info's are up to date, you may be experiencing delays receiving the code which I have also experienced before. But if you have already waited too long and have made a couple of attempts, I suggest following the suggested steps in the "Troubleshooting verification code issues" section on the support page below.
