Windows 10: Can't hear audio on bluetooth headphones even though they are connected and audio is playing

I am experiencing an issue with my Windows 11 laptop ASUS TUF FX 505DT when using Bluetooth headphones and AirPods. Initially, both devices connect successfully and play audio without any problems. However, after a few minutes, the audio stops playing through the headphones/AirPods even though they remain connected, and the audio playback on the computer continues as if everything is normal. The issue was present on Windows 10, but I clean installed Windows 11 and the issue is still present. Also when I turn off bluetooth on the laptop, the bluetooth button appears grey and I can't interact

Glad to know that the Bluetooth issue is resolved.

Try the below methods to troubleshoot the issue on the headphones and check if this helps.

Before trying the below methods, I suggest you to try connecting the headphones to a different port or check the headphones on a different computer and check if you are able to hear the audio from the headphone.

Method 1:
Setting The Headphones As Default Playback Device.

1. Select on the Start button > Type Sound in the search box > Select
   Sound from the list of results.
2. Go to Playback tab > Select your headphones > Then click on
   Set Default.
3. Restart the computer once and check if this helps.

Method 2:
Updating The Audio Drivers.

Follow the steps mentioned in Update drivers in Windows 10
and update your Sound drivers and check if you are able to hear the audio from the headphones.

Restart the computer once after updating the sound drivers.

No audio through connected Bluetooth device

I am having problems playing audio from my Windows PC through my Bose Bose AE2 Bluetooth headphones.

1) I have previously connected to these headphones without any issues. The audio was fine

2) at some point, the audio started experiencing distortions and disconnects

3) I can now no longer play any audio through the headphones from the PC

In the Bluetooth and other device settings menu, my headphones are connected. I have also tried un-pairing and re-pairing the device several times. The device manager recognizes the headphones in the bluetooth dropdown menut. In the Sound settings on Windows, my headphones are listed as a playback device, but are listed as disconnected and cannot be connected from that menu. Note: this is different from the bluetooth and other devices menu, which says that I AM connected.

My windows drivers are up to date, I have updated my headphones to the latest drivers as well. My headphones connect without issue to other devices (laptop and cell phone both). I feel as though I have taken all the basic troubleshooting steps and am not getting anywhere.

After a driver updated my bluetooth devices connect as voice but not as audio I have tried to:

• Connect it manually in the sound managment (nothing happen, it doesn´t connect)
  
• Uninstall and install drivers (nothing happen)
  
• Return to the previous version (nothing happen)
  
• Trobleshooting (it can´t start because it is not connected as an audio device)
  
• Updated to windows 11 (the problem is still there)
