Windows 10: Cant install amd sofware and 2 games getting suspended

English is my second language please pardon me.My genshin impact wont open, it was working before but when i updated my amd drivers by using amd sofware. It does not open. Now another game that i just recently installed is doki doki literature club, it wont open on steam. It says on the task manager "suspended" and i dunno why I tried everything, updating my windows, reinstalling the game. and for some reason i cant install the amd software it was on my system before i updated it but now its gone. i tried installing the amd sofware from the amd page but when im installing it it says on the tas

Can't install a game as there is already a 'suspended installation'?

Hi,

I'm trying to install a couple of games on a friend's laptop -

• Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (RA3)
• Command & Conquer: Tiberian Twilight 4 (TT4).

The laptop's an Acer Aspire V5-552 with an AMD Quad A8-5557M processor, 512mb graphics and 8GB RAM, running Windows 8.1.

Game specs are:

• Intel Core 2/AMD64 or better (RA3 states '2.6GHz or faster' - this laptop has a turbo boost up to 3.1?)
• 1 - 1.5GB RAM
• 10GB Hard Drive Space
• 256mb video card with support for shader model 3
• Directx 9.0
  

When I try and install RA3, it says it can't complete because there is a Suspended Installation
of TT4. It asks me if I want to remove the relevant files, which I say Yes to, but that dialogue box just keeps coming back.

If I put TT4 in instead and try and run the installer, it allows me to hit Install > English > Agree > Standard Installation and then says
The program cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.

It seems to me like I need to find this 'suspended installation' and get rid of it - but I can't find anything. Is that right, and if so, how?!

Please can someone help?

Please try the steps given below and check if the issue persists:

Step 1:

I suggest you to right click on the game and try to run as administrator and check.

Step 2: if that doesn't help I suggest you to install game in compatibility mode and check:

Follow the steps below on how to install game in compatibility mode:

1. Download the game from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the game and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the game install and then check the functionality.

Install Diablo 3 on Linux

Just install PlayOnLinux? Why did they make step 2 and 3 of this "tutorial"?

Anyway, looking at the supported software list for PlayOnLinux, D3 is a step in the right direction. Lack of gaming is a factor for a lot of people when deciding on an OS, if more recent games get ported it may help migrate them to their preferred choice.
