    Can't install latest updates because of lack of Drive C: space


    I have been having the same issue over and over and it doesn't seem like Microsoft is fixing this. I have a SSD drive of 128 GB and I have nothing on it except for Windows 10. I can't free up anymore space and it just seems to keep filling up and won't let me install updates. When i use the tools to free up space all it frees up is a few hundred MB and thats it. I freed up 4 GB and the update started downloading but it filled the HD and now theres not enough room to install the update. Is there any way to fix this issue?

    Hi Travis,

    It appears that a disk partition was created but was never assigned its allocation. Assuming there are no files stored in the unallocated partition, perform these steps to combine it with your C: drive:

    • In Disk Management, right-click on (CCan't install latest updates because of lack of Drive C: space :) which appears next to the
      Unallocated partition.
    • Select Extend.

    Let us know if you're able to combine the spaces after following the steps above.

    C Drive space

    Windows 10 laptop. Cannot update for lack of space on C drive. I need 8GB, according to updater. I have deleted all I can. C Drive seems to be full of Program files, and therefore necessary. What are my options?
