Windows 10: Can't install media feature pack after the Windows 10 October 2020 Update.

Hi!


As the title says, I'm unable to install media feature pack version 1903which I require to stream media through atleast HBO in firefox browser, but not in chrome for some reason.. And also require media pack for Nvidia Shadowplay.


I get this error message when I try to install: "The update cannot be applied to this computer" after i updated to Windows 10 October 2020 update.


Have I missed something, is there a newer version of media feature pack?


I tried searching for a solution but I could not apply them for my specific situation.


The "Media Features" entry doesn't excist for me in "Turn Windows features on or off".


I can't find "WindowsFeatures" in the Registry under "Setup" Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

Problem with Media Feature Pack.

When I follow these steps Media Features are not listed, despite having downloaded and installed the Windows Media Feature Pack! Please help! Can't install GTA: V! Aaaargh!

 

Problem with Media Feature Pack.

I seem to be running into similair issues. After the update, features reliant on the Media Pack stopped functioning correctly, so I reinstalled the pack, which did not have any effect. After following your steps, I noticed that the Media Feature Pack was
not even listed as a feature on my PC. Further help would be highly appreciated!

I have the same problem. When I try to install KB 3099229, I get "Feature Pack for Windows (KB3010081) is already installed on this computer".

I followed your steps above, but KB3010081 is not listed under "Installed Updates".

(Problem appeared after I upgraded from Win 7 N x64 (with Media Pack installed) to Win 10.)
