Windows 10: Can't Install Minecraft Launcher as the message 'Failed to initialize GDK, please make sure...

I'm currently having a problem reinstalling Minecraft as the newest Minecraft launcher, each time when I press install it, message pops up saying 'failed to initialize GDK, please make sure Xbox App and Gaming Service are up to date.' I've went to the Microsoft store and pressed 'Get Updates' and everything was up to date. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the Xbox App and the Gaming Service but its still not working.

Problem with the minecraft launcher.

There are many reasons why you can't log in to Minecraft Launcher, but all of them are due to Microsoft Store and related services. I will provide several methods to try to solve this problem, please refer to the following steps for operation:

• Clear the cache on Microsoft Store.
  

1. Press the Windows logo key + R, type wsreset.exe, and select OK.
   
2. After a few seconds a blank command prompt window will appear, which will disappear after about ten seconds and the Microsoft Store will open automatically.This means the cache was cleared successfully.
   

• Make sure you're using the Microsoft Store Install Service.
  

1. Services.msc can be found by pressing Windows Key + S and typing services.msc.
   
2. Locate and double-click the Microsoft Store Install Service; if the status is Running, right-click it and select Restart.
   
3. Change it to Automatic if it's disabled, then click Start and OK.
   

• Reinstall the Microsoft Store app
  

1. Press Windows key + X
   
   Click and Run Windows PowerShell(run as Administrator)Copy and paste the command below then hit Enter:
   
   

• Reinstall the Minecraft Launcher
  

1. Click Start >Settings >Apps，find "Minecraft Launcher" in all apps.
   
2. Click on the "Minecraft Launcher" Advanced options >Uninstall the application.
   
3. Open the Microsoft Store, search for "Minecraft Launcher", download and install it again, and log in to your account to see if it works.

Minecraft Launcher not installing

Hi, I have been trying to install the Minecraft launcher, both from web and also from Microsoft’s store. When I try to download it from the installer on the web it tells me that there’s a problem, and redirects me to the Microsoft store. When I try to download it from the Microsoft store, I press install and the button just turns grey and nothing happens, and after a couple minutes it just goes back to the normal install page with the green button.

I have windows 10 pro, not sure if that affects anything, and I’ve tried all the steps I’ve seen online and on Microsoft help comments suggesting resetting the store, running commands, and checking for updates, all to no success.

Hopefully I can find a good answer here, thanks.

I understand that you are unable to open the Minecraft Launcher;

Initially I recommend that you uninstall the launcher;

Press Windows key + i and go to Apps;

Click Installed apps;

Locate Minecraft Launcher in the list and click on the three dots on the right to select Uninstall;

Then go to the Microsoft Store and download the launcher again;

Check if the launcher starts now;
