    Can't install windows 10, not enough ram


    I have a problem.
    My dad is running windows 7 on his laptop and wants to upgrade to windows 10. A few months back the get windows 10 app reported that he only had 1gb of ram which was correct, but he has no bought and had install extra ram, he now has 4gb. Still the get windows 10 app says he has not got enough ram. This problem is made more difficult because I'm here and he is there, a distance of 2 hours drive.

    Not enough RAM

    Installed 4Gs of RAM today, but still getting the "We can't install windows 10 because you don't have enough RAM.

    I've had to do an upgrade install on my windows 10 insider, is that an option for upgrading 7 to 10

    Install Teamviewer on his pc and your pc (you can talk him through installation - just need to visit website TeamViewer – Access your computer remotely and share your desktop with friends – it’s free for personal use!)

    Remote connect to his pc, and take control.

    Download windows 10 iso from here

    Windows 10

    Install virtual clonedrive from here

    RedFox Virtual CloneDrive | CD Backup

    Run virtual clonedrive and mount iso as a drive.

    Run setup.exe from virtual drive and pc will be upgraded to windows 10.

    It will activate automatically - you are just upgrading not clean installing.

    No idea but any tool eg imgburn that can mount iso as a drive will work.

    Well windows 10 was installed on my dads laptop, everything seems to be fine, well haven't heard of any problems.
    Here is what I did, in case someone else is in a similar position.What I did was download the media creation tool with the windows 10 files (including one called setup.exe). Then I pointed to the folder that the files were stored in and click on setup.exe. Windows 10 went through its installation procedure I selected various option, including one to keep everything.
