Windows 10: Can't Intall gears 5 from microsoft store onto external SSD also 80 GB file on my C DRIVE...

i have game pass so when i click "install" it asks me to choose which drive to install to and the H drive which is my external SSD does not pop up also there is a 80 GB file in the "windows apps" folder that i cannot delete on my C drive that came about cause i attempted to install gears 5 then stopped the download

Gears 5 Won't Update or Download/Install in Microsoft Store

About a week ago, I went to go launch Gears 5 in Windows 10 and it was grayed out. I went to the Microsoft Store app to hit update and was given a error that something was wrong and that Gears 5 needed to be reinstalled. After clicking reinstall, Gears
5 was removed from my "Installed" list. When I try to install it from "Library", it's stuck on working. Other apps and games will install fine in the Microsoft Store. Also, I noticed that if I click "Install" from "All Owned", it moves it to downloads but
doesn't do anything. If I click the download button to the right in Downloads, it just does the spin notification. If I move to another page and go back, it's no longer doing anything.

I've tried the following:

• Logged in and out of my account in Microsoft Store
• Removed my computer from devices in my Microsoft account and re-adding it
• Cleared the cache
• Ran Diskcleanup and selected System files option as well
• Run wsreset.exe
• Reinstall Microsoft Store and Game Services using PowerShell
• Verified that Gears 5 was deleted except for the saved game files
• Run Windows App Troubleshooter
• Installed another game I own digitally through Microsoft Store, launched it and uninstalled it without issues
• Run Windows update and installed update 1909

Things I can't do:

• Change storage location for apps as I only have one drive and I don't feel like re-partitioning my drive to create a second drive letter since the above works.
  

 

Can't select HDD to install apps from the Microsoft Store

Hi - I recently purchased a Razer Blade Stealth with a 256GB HD for gaming and a bit of work. I also bought a Samsung SSD T5 external hard drive to store my games because I have limited space on my HD. I purchased Gears of War 5 from the Microsoft store
and went to install it but unfortunately, it only will install on my C: drive. In my Settings > Storage > Apps, I chose the external Samsung SSD but when I go to download GOW5 in the Microsoft store it only offers me the C: Drive. Is there any workaround to
get it on my external HD instead of my C: Drive? If it is only C: Drive then I will likely not be able to hold more than a single game on my computer because I also have files. I appreciate the help!

Sorry for the repeated messages, but I think I figured it out. It seems like the Microsoft Store doesn't take too kindly to downloading and installing games onto external SSDs (at least the Samsung T5). I did an experiment and installed ReCore onto my flash
drive and now the game runs. I guess you will have to use an HDD if you want to install games from the Microsoft Store onto an external drive.
