Windows 10: Cant leave Windows S mode - and so cant download printer drivers

I have been trying to set my Canon MX530 printer but it saays it doesnt have the drivers. When I try to down load them it says I cant as they are not available in the MS Store, because I am in S mode. When I try to leave S mode and go to the 'Get' button on the windows store it says 'Working on it' but never says it is done.I thought I had done it last night when I started it for the first time, but it seems to have reverted back to safe modeDo I have to wipe it all and start again?You can imagine my views are not positive towards Microsoft at the the moment - dont want to have to send this

I suggest you to put the computer in clean boot mode and try to install the printer drivers.

Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

I suggest you to try installing drivers in compatibility mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

  Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
  
• 
  Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘Properties’.
  
• 
  Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done,
  restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Method 1:

I suggest you to try running Printer troubleshooter and check if it fixes the issue. To do so kindly follow the below given steps:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Printer.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Method 2:

This issue may arise due to printer’s driver incompatibility with Windows 10. I suggest you to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.
To do so kindly follow the below given steps:

• Right click on printer’s driver that you have downloaded from manufacturer website.
  
• Click/tap on Properties.
• Check the Run this program in Compatibility mode for under
  Compatibility tab
• Select Windows 8.1/8 from the drop down under
  Compatibility mode section.
• Click on Apply and Ok.
• Install the drivers, restart PC and check if issue is resolved.

• Then click on printer and run the troubleshooter, follow the onscreen instructions.
