Windows 10: Can't log in to microsoft account because it wants me to put 'current windows password'

I'm trying to log in to my microsoft account. It asked for my email, then a new screen asks for my microsoft password, then another screen says'Next time you sign in to this computer, use your microsoft account password or windows hello, if you've set it up. We'll need your current windows password one last time'. There's a box to enter'current windows password'. I've entered my microsoft password, my windows hello, I've changed my microsoft password and entered the new password. I've tried leaving it blank. Nothing works and there's no forgotten password to click on. Please help me! Thanks.

I have just formatted my computer. After I have finished, I could not log in to my Microsoft Account. I have put my correct email and password but once I have put everything, it has popped out with a message asking me to put current Windows password for one
last time (please refer to screenshot). I have put again my password but it has stated that it's incorrect password. Due to this, I have tried to reset my password it's still to no avail. Please help. I desperately need access to Microsoft Account. Please

The Windows password it is asking for is the password you log into your computer desktop with, usually a Local non microsoft login.

This is different from your Microsoft password.

 

When to "log in with local account" they asked me to put in my password and password hint.

So I when to "log in with local account" they asked me to put in my password and password hint.

part of my password contains a Windows Alt code.

when I go to log back in, not only does it revert my account back to my dads name (who owned the computer before me) but the password I used to switch over to the local account doesn't seem to be valid.

Is this because I need the old password (my dads) or because I used an Alt code?
