    Can't Log in using fingerprint or password.


    I have a Lenovo T570 with Win 11 Pro.After setting up a microsoft account to log into Windows on the device I was also able to set up a fingerprint login.However after restarting the laptop it would only ask for fingerprint which did not work and would not prompt anything to input password.This is all I would get, clicking the sign in button does nothing either.

    For us to properly isolate the issue with your fingerprint login, we would like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
    • Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you update your device drivers. To do this, you may follow the steps in this
    article to resolve it.

    Hi

    Thanks for replying. I have gone to the article you suggested. It says the following:

    This issue occurs when one of the following conditions is true:

    • Your fingerprint is not registered with an account on the computer.
    • There is no Windows password for the Windows account.

    Neither of these conditions are true for my laptop.

    Therefore I still cannot use the fingerprint scanner to log on.

    Any more advice?

    This issue occurs when your fingerprint is not registered with an account on the computer or there is no Windows password for the Windows account.
    To better assist you, please clarify the following:

    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Any recent changes made prior to the issue?
    • Can you possibly send us a screenshot?
    • What is the make and model of your device?
