Can’t log into any Microsoft account on primary device. Bug? Help!

I understand this is quite a niche situation, but I’ve been battling with this all morning and can’t seem to solve my problem. I was just curious if anyone else has any experienced a similar issue.Basically, I realized that the Microsoft account that my PC was on was associated with a very old email of mine. I just wanted to change the email associated with my Microsoft account, and I did. After doing so I realized that my email did not update on my account info page, so I tried to simply log out of my Microsoft account and log back in, hoping that would maybe refresh its data. 2. Unable to change primary alias - Microsoft Account

    Hi John,

As per the description, you are experiencing issue with you are unable to change the primary alias for your Microsoft account on the system.

I certainly understand your concern and appreciate all your efforts in trying to fix this issue.

I would like to provide you with the information that
an account alias is an email address or phone number that you use to sign in to your Microsoft account. You can have multiple aliases, and use any of them with Microsoft services such as Outlook.com, Skype, OneDrive,
    Office, Xbox, Windows and more.

Your primary alias appears on devices such as your Xbox, Surface, and Windows Phone, and is the email OneDrive sends from when you share. You can choose a different alias to be the primary one at any time.

An alias is also the best way to change your email, but keep all your mail.
Add an alias, then make the new alias primary. Then you can
keep or remove the original alias.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

Note: The email alias at the top of the list without a Make primary link is your current primary alias.

    • Uncheck the Send me promotional offers from Microsoft box if you like, and click/tap on Yes to confirm.
You may also try the following steps given below and check if that helps.

    • Navigate to Start>Settings>Account>Your Account.
    • In the right pane, click on Sign in with a local account instead.
    • Provide your current Microsoft Account Password.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions.
    • You can leave the Enter Password option empty, however, it is highly recommended to keep a password on your system to keep it safe.

    For reference:

I would suggest you to refer to the article given below and check if that helps.

Can’t log into any Microsoft account on primary device. Bug? Help!

I understand this is quite a niche situation, but I’ve been battling with this all morning and can’t seem to solve my problem. I was just curious if anyone else has any experienced a similar issue.

Basically, I realized that the Microsoft account that my PC was on was associated with a very old email of mine. I just wanted to change the email associated with my Microsoft account, and I did. After doing so I realized that my email did not update on my account info page, so I tried to simply log out of my Microsoft account and log back in, hoping that would maybe refresh its data. Upon attempting to log back in, it bring my to the Microsoft log in screen with my old email entered, it says there is no Microsoft account associated with that email address. So I entered the email that I’ve changed it to along with my password and after pressing enter it pops up the “set up a pin” screen. I agree to do so and it sort of bugs out, only allowing me to proceed using the “skip for now” option. When I click that the whole interface freezes and I’m directed back to the initial sign in screen (press any key to continue).

I’m curious if this is a Windows problem or if there is a problem with my Microsoft account directly; as I AM able to sign into this Microsoft account issuing my new email on all other devices. The only thing I can think of trying at this point is to reinstall windows, unfortunately, I understand I will lose my files because they are not backed up I don’t think.

Thank you in advance for any help or advice! This is my first and only problem using Microsoft/Windows ever so I’m not too upset about it, would definitely like to get this resolved though lol Can’t log into any Microsoft account on primary device. Bug? Help! :)

    Edit: Windows 11
