Windows 10: Can't log into PC; "Your password was changed on a different device. You must sign in to...

I have been trying for 5 hours to log into my computer. It won't let me in! I've tried everything I can; Safe mode, using virtual keyboard, resetting Microsoft account password, EVERYTHING!!! It's most definitely a local user problem, because pressing "Reset password" gives me the password reset disk which I don't have. I have no idea what to do anymore, besides just completely resetting my PC, but I DON'T want to do that. Oh and I've tried going into command prompt in the recovery mode to enable the Administrator account, but for some reason, it won't show up!What do I do???

How Do I Change my Log On / Sign In Password?

I am able to change the password on my administrator email account. I am able to change the passwords on my user email accounts. I am not able to change the password for logging on or signing in to Windows 10 Pro when I boot my computer in the morning. (Please don't tell me my email password is the same as my log on / sign in password) Suggestions? Advice?

One of our active directory user was notified as "Your password was changed on a different device. You must sign in to this device once with your new password and then you can sign in with PIN." on his computer's lock screen.

I have checked the DC logs, but there was not a log that shows password was changed for that user. Is there any other log that I can check?

What can be the root cause for this? As a security issue what can I do?

It is completely possible to change your password hint on Windows 10 without going through all the “rigmarole *chuckle” of changing the password. Just do this:

Step 1- On the search bar, type “Settings” then locate and click on “Accounts”.
Step 2- On the left navigation pane, locate and click on “Sign- In Options”, then click on “Password”.
Step 3- Type your current password/new password and the hint that you want to provide under “Password Hint”.
