Windows 10: Can't Log into profiles on Edge or Word - MS Login Popup broken?

Hi there! I've had my Microsoft profile logged into my PC, Edge, and MS Office forever. I also turned on two-step authentication via the Authenticator app on my phone. It has worked perfectly for the past years, and I have consistently been able to log into my account when necessary.Today, I changed the primary email address of my Microsoft account and updated my outdated password for security. However, I cannot log into Edge and MS Office anymore, as the Microsoft popup login function seems to be broken. 1. why does edge show me other account profiles on my desktop login account?

soooo: MS are compromising every ones data and privacy by allowing any /all edge profiles to be presented for different desktop login accounts?

i will try that but please provide answer here ;

am i wrong? - default edge behaviour is to present all profiles in edge whichever windows / desktop login account is logged in?

Failed to login into dlink dnr-202l using microsoft edge

Thank you for your reply. I did what you suggested; but the same issue showed where failed to login with user ID and password; however, the same user ID and password work when using Internet Explorer.

First steps:

• Launch Microsoft Edge
• Click more options (...)
• Select "Settings"
• Click button "Choose what to clear" under "Clear browsing data"
• "Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data, Cached data and files" are selected.
• Click "Clear" button
• Open new tab by clicking "+" sign
• Enter IP address to open device (DNR-202L) login screen
• In the login dialog screen, enter the user ID and password and click "OK" button
• Dialog login screen shows again. Do this step 3 times and get message

Access Error: 401 -- Unauthorized

Access Denied, Authorization enabled.

Second steps:

• Launch Microsoft Edge in private mode
• Enter IP address to open device (DNR-202L) login screen
• In the login dialog screen, enter the user ID and password and click "OK" button
• Dialog login screen shows again. Do this step 3 times and get message

Access Error: 401 -- Unauthorized

Access Denied, Authorization enabled.

my user profile name on www.msn.com/en-gb/community/profile/ was automatically created by Microsoft - I cannot find it in my MS Edge profile

I don't have that icon.

I have the rewards icon, the notifications icon and the open settings icon.

If I click on the comments icon on the left side of a news article the list of comments pops out from the right hand side.

I have that user icon there.

If I click on it I get my profile, activity etc but my only option as regards the username is the "edit username"

I am logged into edge with my Work profile which isn't supposed to allow the leaving of comments.

When i first tried to leave comments, months ago it used to tell me I needed to be logged into edge with a personal profile.

One day it said it had created a temporary username for me - I don't remember doing anything to initiate it.

If I login to Edge using an actual "personal account " I can edit that whole profile.

If I try to login to MSN on chrome it doesn't recognise the username.

It looks like at some point MS has created a username I can use to leave comments with and linked it my work profile.

I just cannot find out where this is or how to add it Edge on another computer.
