Windows 10: Can't login to my child email as I am stuck on the parental consent loop. Also can't add...

Hi Team,I can't access my child email account. When we login asked for parent consent, and after i login into my email account i get the message: something is not working. It's not you, it's us. The child is not in my Family portal and when i try to add it i got this message: Something went wrong on our end. Give it a few minutes, then try again. TraceID: SLJagaZjqkqMWLw5.2.228.How can we login in this email? The last access was on 07/12/2023.ThanksVeruscka

Child Microsoft account can't login, stuck in endless loop of parental consent needed

May I ask if your child’s account has the same email address as the parent’s account that needs to approve it? That might be one of the reasons why parental consent is stuck in a loop and cannot be completed. If that is indeed the case, one possible solution is to add another email address as an alias to your child's existing account (Add or remove an email alias - Microsoft Support). This way, you can use the new email address to sign in and approve their account.

When you've exhausted all the possible solutions you can try on your own, the best course of action would be contacting Microsoft customer support: Contact Us - Microsoft Support. They might provide you with further assistance.

Edit the parent consent email in my child's microsoft account

Hello. The parent consent email in my child's Microsoft account is spelled incorrectly (ie *** Email address is removed for privacy *** - 2 "L"'s). When they need consent to purchase or install something, the request goes nowhere. Short of deleting their entire account is there any way to fix this? Bonus question: wouldn't this be a reaaaaallllly obvious easy thing for a parent to fix in Microsoft Family? You would thinks so.

You may want to create a new Microsoft account for you child. After successfully logging in to his account as a child, you may add the new email address as an alias to his existing Microsoft account (his original Microsoft account). For instructions on how
to do that, please be guided by the steps below:

• Go to accounts.live.com and sign in your child's account.
• Select Your info tab at the top part of the page.
• Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
• You may be prompted to enter a code we send to the email address, or phone number listed in your account as security information. This lets us know the request is coming from you.
• Select either Add email or Add phone number.
• If you selected Add email, follow these steps:
  • If you want to create a new email address to use, select Create a new email address and add it as an alias, and then follow the instructions.
  • If you have a non-Microsoft email address that you want to use, select
    Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias, and then click
    Add alias.
• If you selected Add phone number, follow these steps:
  • Select your country from the list.
  • Enter the phone number you want to use, and then select Next.
  • When you add a new phone number, we'll send a text message to that number to verify it. Enter the code in the text message, and then select.
