Windows 10: Can't login to my PC - "Device is offline. Use the last password..."

I'm honestly beyond mad right now.My PC worked like a charm and I realized at some point that I was not logged into my Microsoft account. And since there's always a notification how you are supposed to do that to "secure" your PC, idiot that I am I actually did it. My reward? I can't log into my PC anymore.Every time I boot it up it prompts me to add my password. Which I can try as often as I want I always get an error message telling me I'm offline. Which is not the case, I'm connected with an ethernet cable and just for the fun of it I also logged into my Wifi network, which also connected,

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

 

Error device offline at login but can't select a network

My pc crashed and after the pc repair scan It managed to get to the Microsoft windows login screen. After entering my password it said device offline. The Internet icon at the bottom right won't show me options to connect, not even with a network cable.
I've done safe mode restart but then when I got to login screen it said my password is incorrect. I have now reset my password just to be sure but I still can't login because devise is offline.

Brink, that was the missing step. What threw me off was in netplwiz, where it asks about password for my MS account, the user name was not the same as my MS account name. Once I entered the password (twice) I can now login without entering a password. In fact the name that was listed was not the MS account name, but a folder name. The folder is the one that shows when you click on C:\Users.
