Windows 10: Can't login with user after windows10 update

Before going to sleep I restarted my PC to finish the windows update. When I woke up this morning I'm unable to login, user service login failed¿ That's nice since, I'm the only user on this PC. I rebooted twice and then I was able to login with my biometric as I always have. Now, it looks like it's a new user's account. All my apps and/or folders are gone from the desktop, there's 5 new temp user folders that have been made in the users folder in the C: **** I guess I'll attempt to roll back but, why force an update to have it go so poorly, BRAVO Microsoft.


So, how does the login service fail when there's no others users ? How to I fix that ?

Audio Driver is no good after the update ? It's doesn't even show an audio device in device manager, only showing my microphone.


Why would Windows create 5 temp user folders?


Why give a message about needing this update when the update is garbage and now I have to waste time to fix something that was working perfectly fine before. The poor people that don't have the knowhow that have to pay for someone to fix Microsoft's garbage rollout. Maybe do smaller rollouts instead of massive one that'll change too much at once and cause problems.

User.000 issue after updating to 1909

I'm one of the many people suffering from issues with user profiles after applying Update 1909 to Windows 10. I've read all the threads I can find on the topic here and have followed the suggestions, all to no avail. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

After applying Update 1909, the ProfileImagePath was changed to c:\users\User.000
One file that was always in use and couldn't be removed was left in c:\users\User (can't recall or find the exact file now), so I could never rename or remove the c:\user\User directory.

I followed the multiple suggestions from Brink and others:

• Rebooted at least 6 times
• Enabled hidden Administrator
• Booted into Safe Mode
• Changed ProfileImagePath
• Tried to rename c:\users\User but couldn't because a file was still in use
• Copied all data from c:\users\User.000 into c:\users\User
• Rebooted and had temporary profile
• Followed steps in Brink tutorial to change ImageProfilePath; rebooted with no change
• Restored using Restore Point from before Update 1909 - returned to single profile state (User.000)
• Removed each update that was installed individually and rebooted after each update removal - profile state never changed
• After all updates were removed, repeated the steps above with hidden Administrator, changing profile, etc. - same issue with file in use in c:\users\User
• Followed all steps above with hidden Administrator but without copying files from User.000 to User - same results

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

 

Windows users at login

I cannot see all of my user accounts on the login screen on a new Windows 10 laptop. I have an account for my son and it does not appear as a user on the login screen. It is listed if I display the users with the CMD prompt. The only account I see is my
account which is an admin. His account is a user. All the suggestions I've seen are not available on home edition.

1) Which account are you using to access the other user? Is it a Microsoft account or local account?

2) Are you able to login to the computer?

Let’s try below steps and check if it works:

• 
  Click on Start and then enter the following command in the search box:
  
• 
  netplwiz and Press the ENTER key.
  
  (This command will load the Advanced User Accounts Control Panel applet)
  
• 
  In the Users tab, uncheck the box next to
  Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
  
• 
  Click on the Apply button at the bottom of the
  User Accounts window.
  
• 
  When the Automatically Log On dialog box appears, enter the
  user name you wish to automatically login to Windows. Then enter your
  account password in the two fields where it's asked and click the
  OK button.
  
• 
  Click OK on the User Accounts
  Window to complete the process.
  
  From now on, when your PC starts up, Windows will log on automatically.
