Windows 10: Can't make System Restore Point because I now get Error 0x80042306

I have just re-installed Windows, fully updated it, and am now installing other software. I'm doing this to clean up the system. While installing I periodically make a sytem restore point. I was about to make the 5th RP but had Error 0x80042306 instead. I have C: drive and my workdata drive, E:, set to be included in the System restore. I referred to https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/cannot-create-restore-point-error-0x80042306/d373e2e5-53f2-433f-831e-2bb399a2b0fc and did the following: 1. Volume Shadow Copy was stopped and in manual mode. I started it. 2. Windows B

Let try simple troubleshooting steps and check if it helps resolving the issues. Follow the below steps:

Step 1.

In order to perform system restore the Virtual Disk and Volume Shadow copy must run on the system background. So, I suggest you to check if both programs are running on computer background.

• 
  Press Windows key + R and type
  services.msc and hit enter.
  
• 
  Now locate for Virtual disk and
  Volume Shadow copy on the list.
  
• 
  If the programs are not running rick click on the program and click on run.
  

If the issue still persist try the below method provided.

Step 2.

I recommend you to boot on Clean boot sate and try to perform system restore.
Clean boot process will help you determine which third party program/app that is causing this issue. It could be some other application or programs, which runs on the computer at the background, leading to this issue. Please visit the below

SYSTEM RESTORE POINT ERROR 0x80042306

I am also suffering from system restore problem on apple mac mini md387 late 2014. I reinstalled windows 10 but could not solve the problem at all. Now i dont want to reinstalled again.

Please suggest any other step to solve this problem

How to delete inactive System Image Restore Points in System Restore

Windows 10 64-bit.
When I click "show more restore points" in System Restore I see a bunch of old "system image restore points" that were deleted in past and do not correspond to any currently active restore points. Clicking any of these old restore points, I simply get an error message saying they could not be found, and to select another restore point instead.I would like to delete these restore points listings but have been unable to do so.
So far, I have tried steps mentioned below without any luck :

Disk Cleanup through (C Properties
Disable System Protection (OFF and ON) in System Protection for OS (C
Disk Space Usage to minimum (slider button all the way to the left then 'Delete all restore points for this drive'),
Delete all shown Restore points in CCleaner (the problem ones do not show here),
Reset Windows Backup to Default in Windows 10 with 'Reset_Windows_Backup.bat' utility.

Any suggestions highly welcome.
