Windows 10: can't open appdata anymore

Hello I would like to inquire about a problem I have encountered in which whenever I open appdata it asks me "how would you like to open this file" and i have a feeling it also is linked with the same question being asked when I boot up my pcanyone know anything about this?

I understand that you are facing issues while accessing AppData after installing NOX player, and I certainly appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve
the issue.



Let’s see if the path for AppData is assigned correctly. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below:



1.
Press
Windows + S keys together to open Search.

2.
Now type
CMD, right click on it and select Run as administrator

3.
Accept the
UAC prompts

4.
Type in the command and hit
Enter: set appdata

5.
Check if the path shown is correct



Once you check the path from the above steps, check is if the registry settings for AppData is set correctly.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run’.
2. In Run dialog box, type ‘regedit’ and hit Enter.
3. On the left hand pane navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
4. On the right hand pane look for AppData
   String value key
5. Make sure the value is
   %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
6. Restart the PC.

How do I open AppData?

A search can find AppData but it doesn't appear in a list that I can click on to edit. Clicking on a highlighted file from a search returns "this folder is empty".

I suggest you to perform System Restore on your computer and check if you are able to get back the AppData folder.



System Restore brings a system to an operable condition after a disaster so that it can again accept and process data.



To perform System Restore follow the step provided below.

• Press Windows Key + R Key
• Type rstrui and press Enter.
