Windows 10: can't open excel and word in my laptop

I couldn't open excel and word in my laptop. I have uninstalled, cleared all the files then reinstalled again still I couldn't solve the issue. I also tried an online repair option through control still the problem hasn't solved yet.

Unable to open Excel or Word

I am unable to open a specific Excel File or Excel or Word at all. It shows and error message (-2147163890). Any suggestions

 

Can't open files in excel, publisher or powerpoint

I can't open any of my documents in excel, publisher or powerpoint. Word still works. It tells me to select an default ap but excel, powerpoint and publisher are listed.

 

Word and Excel documents are slow to open in Windows 10

Have the same problem, here are my conditions:

- Windows 10 Professional x64.

- Office 2007 Ultimate.

- Opening Word and Excel documents is slow when Word/Excel not currently open/running.

- Opening the Word/Excel document with Word/Excel already open is fast/normal.

Solution is the same as reported:

1) Disable Cortana.

2) Restart Windows.

Step 2 is very important.
