    Can't open files with an archive box icon on it.


    Hello, I've upgraded to Windows 11 and now Ican't open any files anymore with an archive box icon on it. I already logged off and back in to Onedrive. After the sync I get the same problem. I put out the archive option in the settings menu. I restartd the Windows Explorer service. Does somenone has an idea about how to unlock this problem?

    Corrupted file RAR

    If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:
    • Open WinRAR application in your system.
    • Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
    • A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
    • Now click Open button.
    • Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
    • Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
    • Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
    • Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
    • WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.
    I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

    Archived mails are missing in Windows 10 Mail App.

    Hi John,

    I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

    Follow the Steps below and check.

    Step 1: Check the sync settings in Mail app.

    • Open Mail app and Hoover mouse point on top.
    • Next to Search icon you can seen Sync this View.
    • Click on the icon and let it Sync.
    • Close and reopen Mail app and check Archived mails.

    If issue persist follow next Step.

    Step 2: Run the Windows App Troubleshooter.

    I suggest you to download and run the app troubleshooter from the below link and check if it helps.

    Can't open files with an archive box icon on it.

    Recovered my PC and now some files have an "archive box" icon on their lower left and I can't open them

    After recovering my PC and after unlocking my D drive, I come to realize that I don't quite have access to my older files. The icons are there, I double-click, but nothing happens. Those files also have this archive box icon, as shown in the screenshot. Anyone any suggestions?
