Can't open files without saving them first in new Chromium-based Edge Browser

"Upgrading" to the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge removes the option to open files without saving them first. The old Edge understood the overwhelming customer demand through a feature request campaign and acquiesced by giving us the preferred "Open, Save, Save As" dialog, where "Open" didn't require the user to save the file. Why was that feature taken away? Why are you forcing customers away from Edge to other browsers because you think you know what we want better than we do? So, before you ask irrelevant diagnostic questions, this behavior appears to be across websites which formerly on Edge and still on Firefox and Internet Explorer allowed the Open option. In the new Edge, the Open option completely disappears. When clicking on, for example, an email attachment, we want the ability in settings to enable the following options: a Open, b Save As spawning the save as Explorer dialogue, and c Save to the specified default save folder. Why is it so hard for you to let us keep what we like the way we like it?

    :)
