    I recently got a new SSD for my computer to run windows and other highly used programs. Unfortunately the space used on the secondary old drive exceeded the SSD so I had to reinstall windows. After doing this everything worked fine except I found none of the programs on the old hard drive were being recognised. I could access the files and I am able to alter them. However when I try to open most of them from in the program files folders, I get one of two error messages which seem to both be saying that they cant find the DLL file. I found a way so that I can access them on the new SSD, but due to how many files and programs there are I am unable to do this with all of them. The old drive also still has an up to date version of windows 10.


    So to sum it up, I am looking to be able to access the programs on my secondary drive as if they were all in the same place effectively.

    Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

    Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

    Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

    How to use secondary hard drive?

    Click on the start icon. Start typing Optimize. The app at the top of the list should be Defragment and Optimize Drives. Click on that to open it. Do you see Solid State Drive listed anywhere under Media Type?

    How to use secondary hard drive?

    Hi guys. First post here.

    I recently (two days ago as of this post) received my new PC. My primary hard drive has about 230GB of storage, whereas my secondary hard drive has roughly 980GB. I was wondering if someone could please help me and tell me how I can boot my new machine up and it using the secondary hard drive, as it has much, much more space?
