  1. Can’t Open Settings, Microsoft Edge, or Perform and Update to Windows!

Ok so I spent about 14 hours on this. I don’t normally share on threads but I’m hoping this saves someone else!!!! Most tutorials required me to need the settings or to need Microsoft Edge to be able to fix one or the other. Contradicting right? No command lines using Powershell or Command Center WORKED AT ALL!!!! So let me save you some MAJOR time! Ok take your phone and download Dropbox. Go to the Microsoft shop usually pinned in the taskbar or by opening the Windows menu and search for “Dropbox for S mode” on your PC. Sign in on both devices using the same login for both. Using your cell

    :)

Performance issues related to Microsoft Edge

Yes, I meant Microsoft Edge will not open after todays update. I tried every step and procedure you listed above, but none of them resolved the issue. Update history reports the update was installed successfully. I could not perform method 2 listed above
as Edge will not open. it appears for approximately 2 seconds with its blue start page, then disappears.

  3. Performance issues related to Microsoft Edge

    Hello,

We regret the inconvenience and we understand the frustration when things don't go the way they supposed to. Let me assist you.

Before we proceed any further, let us know a few more detail on the below questions.

    • Is the Windows update you are referring to installed successfully?

Settings > Update and recovery >
      View your update history
    • Do you mean that Microsoft Edge refuses to open in desktop when you say 'Microsoft Edge has stopped working'?
    • Did you check if the same issue occurs when you log in to Windows using a different Local Administrator user account?

Follow the below methods and check if it helps to fix the issue.

    Method 1

Update the existing add-ons to the latest version of Flash, Silverlight, and Java. You might have to uninstall and then reinstall the add-ons to make sure that the latest version is running correctly.

Method 2 (Applies only if you can access Microsoft Edge)

Next, I suggest you clear the Clear browsing data
option of Microsoft Edge and check if you still face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    • Open Microsoft Edge, go to More
Can’t Open Settings, Microsoft Edge, or Perform and Update to Windows! [IMG]
      > Settings.
    • Select Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data, then tick the checkbox(es) for the information that you want to clear.

    Method 3

If it still does not help, I suggest you to
increase the browser disk space allotment and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer share common disk allotment settings for internet cache. So open Internet Explorer and click 'Tools', click 'Internet Options', click 'General' tab, scroll to browsing history, set 'Disk space usage' at 1024MB, click
'OK' to finish and check with the results.

Write to us with the updated status and the required information related to Microsoft Edge performance, for us to be able to assist you further.

    Thank You.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
