Windows 10: Can't open windows menu, it's stuck on a loading screen

Hi, last night i updated my pc and after that i can't acces the windows menu or the search bar.if i click on either symbol or the windows key, my whole screen blurs out, a loading circle apears on the center, and the only ways to remove it are to either press the windows key again, or open the alt-supr menu.i've been using windows 10 for years, and the update was a normal security update i belive.this is th first time it's happened, and i cant find any similar issues on google.the screen looks like this, and i can't click anywhere on the screen

"Open With" context Menu slow to load


Hi all,

so when i right click on the file and point to the "open with" menu, it should show the list of programs that the file could be opened. Every time after a restart the "open with" menu would take like 3 seconds to load, and after that first load, it would show the list right away. This not only happens when i restart my pc, but also when I haven't opened a file with the "open with" menu for like 1 or 2 hours and it will lag for like 3 seconds again for it to show the list of programs that it could be opened with.

I've already tried programs like Autoruns, ShellExView and disabling those context menu would now help either. Also, I deleted the unnecessary programs from the open with list through the registry already and it still doesn't help.

Any Suggestions?

Context Menu - Open With (Windows Suggested List)

Well.. have a look at this:




I took a risk. I've set a System Restore point then installed Gold Wave.
It was not present in that Open With list.

I used the Default Programs Editor:




Did you click Save...? You should have seen:




Note: if you are running as a standard user you may need to run it as admin, if it doesn't offer a UAC prompt.




- opened via Open With as above.

 

Context Menu - Open With (Windows Suggested List)

OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 22H2
Diagram 'A' shows Windows' suggested programs
Diagram 'B' shows the extended list

I have been trying to edit the context menu's "Open with" list of Windows' suggested programs for the .mp3 extension.
I'm not talking about the extended list, but rather the programs that first appear 'before' the "choose another app" option.
If you look at Diagram 'A' you will see the preliminary list generated by Windows, this is the list I am looking to modify.
I have an .mp3 editor named Goldwave that I use for editing audio files, however, I do not want to change the preliminary program Windows uses to open .mp3s. My .mp3s should remain assigned to Winamp Player.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
