Windows 10: Can't pair Windows 10 & phone using Bluetooth USB adapter

I have an android phone Samsung Galaxy S8 that I can't pair with my aging Windows 10 PC using a USB adapter there's no native Bluetooth on the PC. I want to use the "Your Phone" app to make calls on the PC. When I attempt to pair, the phone readily asks if it's ok to pair, but the PC doesn't ask anything at all. The "Allow a Device to Connect" on the context menu for the Bluetooth logo in the system tray is always greyed out. I've tried two different adapters being sure to clear out the first before installing the second. I can easily get to the point of seeing the PC on the phone's

Pairing a phone to a car

Remove the device from the cars Bluetooth list. Restart your phone. Go to the Bluetooth settings on the phone and set it to Pair. Set the cars Bluetooth to pair, they should find it each other.

Hello Everyone

I have just bought the above mentioned bluetooth adapter but unfortunately cant manage to connect my bluetooth headset with it (does not find the device in pairing mode, keeps searching)! I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for this device from the promate website. Any suggestions?

Pairing a phone to a car

One thing I would add ... There should be a list of paired devices on the phone, If so it would be best if you "UnPair" any devices listed on the phone as well as the phones shown on the Car. To Unpair a device from an Android Phone go to Settings, Bluetooth and there should be a list of paired devices - at the right of each paired device is a "Cog" icon click on this and click on the unpair option, repeat for any other unneeded devices.

Sometimes paired items get out of sync and both sides need to be removed to re-pair
