Windows 10: Can't Pin Pictures and Documents to Quick Access after disconnecting to Onedrive

I have a new PC that connected with Onedrive as soon as I started using it. Since there was too much data on my PC, I logged out and stopped syncing. By doing so, both the Pictures and Documents folders disappeared from the Quick Access menu even though they are visible in the Home menu. I can no longer pin these folders and I don't know how to fix this situation.

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

See if Libraries can account for your symptoms. Also, see if using Libraries can allow you to work around them. FWIW I just pinned my Documents Library to Quick Access and then unpinned it. Documents Library contains the three Documents directories you
mentioned.

Cannot Unpin from Quick Access Since Microsoft Switched Local Documents and Pictures to OneDrive Folders

Windows 10 went through an automatic update and now I have in my Quick Access a shortcut that says "Documents" and a shortcut that says "Pictures" which I originally had linked to my local Documents and local Pictures folders but after the update now are
linked to my OneDrive's Documents and Pictures.

Windows will not let me change the shortcut's location/target and it will not allow me to remove them from my pins in Quick Access. When I try to change the shortcut's location/target I get an error: "Can't move the folder because there is a folder in the
same location that can't be redirected. Access is denied."

In the screenshot, I have added back the shortcuts to my local Documents and Pictures but Windows will not let me remove the shortcuts for the OneDrive Documents and Pictures.

Any suggestions?
