Windows 10: Can't play WSJ videos on my PC, but works fine on my iPad

I am a subscriber to the Wall Street Journal online. I can access articles just fine but cannot access the videos I keep getting the rotating circle which keep going on and on. I can see the videos just fine om my ipad, but not on my PC. I can see Youtube videos just fine, but not WSJ videos. Any suggestions? I suspect some Windows setting may be part of the problem...Appreciate any suggestion you may have.

Troubleshooting help: YouTube videos won't play on Windows 10 PC

I just got a new Windows 10 PC & I'm finding that it won't play YouTube videos. Specifically YouTube. In the video area the loading indicator circles indefinitely and I see this message...

Additional info & steps I've tried...

• Netflix plays flawlessly
  
• Other Macs, PCs, iOS & Android devices on the same network play YouTube videos no problem
  
• I restarted the machine
  
• Restarted the cable modem
  
• The machine can do other Internet stuff fine -- browse websites, email, etc.
  
• I cleared the browser cache & browsing data
  
• I tried a different browser (I tried Chrome & MS Edge)
  
• I looked under "Windows Defender Security Center > App & browser control" but I don't see anything there about blocking videos.
  
• Turned off ad blocker
  
• Tried connecting via Ethernet and wi-fi
  
• No peripherals connected to the machine
  

System info

Gigabyte Aero 15x
Windows 10 Pro

Version 1803

Installed on 8/14/2018

OS build 17134.228

Any help, advice, or further troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

Video Sync and Conversion w/ T-Mobile Wing

Hey everybody,



I own a T-mobile wing and need some help transferring video files from the phone to the pc. I can get them to show up on my pc once I sync, but as far as converting to .avi files so i can play them on the pc, I cannot get the sound to work. I can convert
the video and the video plays fine, but without the sound that was recorded and plays on the phone fine. The first video I synced and converted, played the video as well as audio just fine. Made no major changes to pc or phone and after that first video once
I convert, video plays but with no audio. I used the same program in all attempts... "Ultra Quicktime Converter." Anybody have any suggestions for me?

1. May I know, which video player you are using to play the video?
   
2. Are you able to play the video on any other computer?
   
3. Are you facing the issue with only specific video or with all the other videos?
   

This issue could also occur when the USB or SD card is corrupted when you have transferred the video.

Try the troubleshooting methods provided below to further narrow down the root cause of the issue.

Method 1: Try a different video player.

1. Try to use a different USB to transfer the video, if you are playing it on other computer or device.
   
2. I suggest you to try a different video player and check if it plays.
   
3. You can also check on different device or computer.
   

Step: Run Windows Media player troubleshooter.

1. Press Windows + R key on your keyboard together.
2. Copy and paste the below command and run each at a time and follow the onscreen instruction on the troubleshooter
3. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerConfigurationDiagnostic
4. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerLibraryDiagnostic
5. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerDVDDiagnostic
6. Reboot the computer and check.

If you still face the issue, reply to this post with more information.
