    Can't print properly through PDF programs. Tried numerous ones with the same result.


    I'm not sure this is a Windows problem but is feels like it. I am trying to print out a large image 28" x 34" in PDF form. I will need the image to print out in smaller sections and then connect them together after printing. I've tried various PDF programs with the same results. If it will print at all it will print the whole image reduced to fit even though I've got all my settings to no reductions. Some just sit there and spool. Is there anything in Windows setting that would prevent doing that?

    Best free PDF software?

    I use:
    • UnityPDF to merge/split PDFs and to insert/extract pages
    • doPDF to create PDFs from any program that is capable of printing
    • Foxit Reader to view PDFs and to type in them

    Hi William,

    We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

    • Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
    • Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
    • On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
      OK to save changes.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.
    If the issue persists, we suggest that you perform the troubleshooting steps suggested on the link below under
    Advanced:

    Fix printer problems

    Printing a pdf file

    The printer is 'Microsoft print to pdf'. Are you sure I should be trying the above steps???

    Anyways, on attempting the above, 'Microsoft print to PDF' was not listed in the programs while running the compatibility checker!

    I tried "troubleshooting printing" option again today and it got stuck at 'checking for spooler service errors' and would not go ahead at all! I do not know if this could give you any clue as to what is going wrong!
