Windows 10: Can't receive emails from my server to Windows 10 Mail

Split from this thread. I have Microsoft Edge & Windows MAIL, NOT OUTLOOK...I can't receive emails from my server= Frontier to my Windows 10 = MAIL.

understanding mail servers

ive been working on a mail server for my linux box. i do not want to use my ISPs mail server to send and receive mail. my isp does allow me to have smtp,pop and imap ports open. i have no issue setting up postfix and smtpd authentication, however, i feel i dont know enough about how email works to get it working properly.

first, i have sent emails and received emails. receiving always works, but sending is sporadic. i am told that is because of all the checks mail servers like yahoo and msn have to filter out spam. what do i need to know about global mail networks to get my system up and running flawlessly?

 

Windows Mail will not send but will receive emails

Check your settings: right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select
Properties.

• On the Servers tab
  
  
  • Ensure that the Email username is your full email address
  • Ensure that Log on using clear text authentication is selected

  • Ensure that My server requires authentication is selected
• Click Apply and

Remove any unsent messages from the outbox (below the account folders in the folder pane), then compose a new test message with a unique subject and send it to yourself. Post any new error message in your reply.

[Note that Windows Live Mail is not the same as Windows Mail. The error message suggests that you're still on Vista using its inbuilt mail program. Your question has been moved to the right forum assuming that that is the case.]

 

How to receive ALL emails on mail clients on 2 different computers

I have always preferred pop3.
I have noticed with IMAP that if you delete a mail in a client it's gone from the server and I I don't want this.
I want to receive my mail on my desktop in Outlook and the same mails on my new laptop windows 10 mail app.
I want to be able to delete mail on both computers but without deleting it from the gmailserver (gmail webmail).

Is this possible? If so, how to do?
