Windows 10: Can’t reconnect to wifi after installing new modem

About 10 days ago I installed a new Xfinity Gateway modem. All home devices are now connected to this new router, with the frustrating exception of my desktop PC.This has 2 valid wifi boards, but both show as “not connected”. My new home wifi network does show when I click on the network icon on the right of the screen-bottom toolbar, but trying to get this to connect by clicking left- or right- on it has no effect.How please can I get my PC to recognise my new home network and allow me to log into it? I had no such problems with my previous router also Xfinity which worked happily for yea

Anomalous WiFi Reconnection

Wondering what (if anything) this was about: WiFi disconnected on wife's computer.

1. Checked, WiFi itself working.
2. Ran Network Trouble Shooter, which usually fixes such problems; failed.
3. Ran Hardware Trouble Shooter, nothing found.
4. Checked Wireless Card in Device Manager; indicated as working properly.
5. Restarted computer; still no WiFi.
6. Although Notification icon was black, clicked on it to see if anything there, found that the WiFi network was "Secured." Clicked on that, saw that it was set to connect automatically, clicked on that, failed. Tried once more, failed, so deselected automatic connection, clicked again, and WiFi was reconnect instantaneously.

I think that that covers most, if not all of the steps I took to fix the problem. Any idea as to what caused this, and as to why non-automatic reconnect worked without even asking for the router's password?

 

New Fibre Modem

We were connected to Fibre last week and a new Huawei HG 659B modem supplied, we were on ADSL. Since then when I bring the PC out of sleep the Lan on the new modem goes out and takes half a minute or so to reconnect to the internet,

The PC is connected by cable. Web and internet runs fine when it does connect.

I contacted our ISP who supplied the Modem, all their suggestions have not worked, update modem, factory reset, power management, network card etc.

One thing I can not find the new modem in devices ??
