Windows 10: Can't reinstall MS Intellitype Pro keyboard drivers on PC

Last week I started having latency problems with my old Microsoft IntelliType Pro multimedia KB, I would type but it would take time for the letters to appear on the screen - impossible to write msgs or emails when that happens, so I went to Device Manager and uninstalled it, rebooted, but Win10 didn't load drivers for it, just assigned generic HID KB drivers to it - that means none of the special function keys on the KB work. I spend DAYS trying to reinstall the driver package ITPx64_1033_8.20.469.0.exe, but kept getting this error msg:"Setup could not install a required component: Microsof

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

No, it will not make any difference.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Microsoft keyboard 400 and Intellitype pro and check if it helps

Method 2: Compatibility mode

I would suggest you to install the latest available drivers on manufacturer's website in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Replacing intellitype in MS Mouse and Keyboard Center

Hello:

I need MS Mouse and Keyboard Center for my new Precision Mouse (only way I could "install" in).

But I need Intellitype 7 (not 8) for my old Natural Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A (grey, so I can see the keys .

Thus, my questions is, how do I remove Intellitype 8 from MS Mouse and Keyboard Center?

And can I then just install Intellitype 7 and all will be bliss?

Is Intellitype compatible with Windows 10?

Thanks, Intellitype installed fine on my Surface Pro 3, but it does not recognize the Surface Type Cover Keyboard. Any suggestions? Why doesn't MS have a product that works with THEIR OWN HARDWARE?!
