  1. Can't remove 37GB file in MSIXVC folder in WindowsApps directory

I'm trying to free up some space on my drives, and I've run into a problem. In the MSIXVC folder in the WindowsApps directory, there's a 37.4 GB file named 8BBF2763-A1C6-4F1B-96CA-B79DD5FDA4EE that I can't delete. I've given myself permissions, but when I try to delete the file, it says that it's open in SYSTEM and can't be deleted.

From what I've researched so far this seems to be related to download files from the Microsoft Store, specifically unfinished downloads. In that case, it shouldn't be anything important. Perhaps a game I had installed in the past and for some reason the download files are still there. I really want this space back. Any help is appreciated.

    :)

  2. Unknown file in WindowsApp folder - unable to delete

Hello, after having issues cleaning my windowsApp folder, il discovered inside it another folder called MSIXVC, with inside, a gigantic 54.8Go file called " A23B7721-871B-4AD0-805D-C50F8EAA5363 " , and it's just a file, no extensions, nothing. It's surely
a game or a something related to, but i can't delete it, since it said that this file is opened in system. i don't know what this is, since that HDD isn't the one with windows in it, so this WindowsApp directory only have games.

So i don't know what is it, and if i can delete it.

    Any thoughts ?

Kindly follow the steps mentioned below to take ownership of WindowsApps folder.

    1. Click on the Search Bar on the left hand side of the
      Taskbar.
    2. Now type CMD, right click on it, and select
      Run as Administrator.
    3. Type in the following command: icacls "%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps" /grant Administrators:F
    4. Once the above command is successfully executed run the following command:
      icacls "%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps" /grant Administrators:F /t

Can't remove 37GB file in MSIXVC folder in WindowsApps directory

    Directory Size Utility

First of all nice utility, Mindweaver!
Second of all, it's so nice to see that this section ain't dead.

    I have a few questions/suggestions, maybe you'd want to see ...
    • maybe you rename Get Folder button caption to something more intuitive? Add Folder, Get Folder Size, Check Folder Size or something like that?
    • Could you add subfolder files to the right pane? (it can be a tickbox with include sub dirs)
    • maybe you also add export list to excel?
    • there's delete file button maybe you add delete folder button too?
    • and finally maybe you can add UP button for directories?
