Windows 10: Can't Remove Bluetooth Security Tag, Causes 5-10 Minute Delays With Logging in After Boot Up

I've been trying to remove this on my own and just can't figure it out. I activated the security tag because it interested me while I was installing a Bluetooth earpiece. However it has been long since I have uninstalled that earpiece and no matter what I've tried, I cannot disable/remove the Bluetooth Security Tag despite having no Bluetooth adapter/driver on my PC anymore.


I've tried following Bluetooth Security Tag Login HOW TO Remove it multiple times and I keep running into two problems. The first problem is that I can't seem to get my PC into safe mode despite following instructions in the page mentioned, and my second problem is while attempting to disable Bluetooth User Support Service_d78e2 in Services, I get "Incorrect Parameter".


This problem makes logging into my computer a serious hassle, I have made a habit to just leave my computer on without letting it sleep so I don't have to deal with it unless I am truly done with it for the day/night. This clearly not good for my PC or my electric bill, I would greatly appreciate any insight and help. Thank you for your time reading this.

You may be able to disable the Bluetooth services you find from Command Prompt, including Command Prompt at boot where Windows cannot stop it:

You can go into all places where Startup freeloaders roost and find the Security key that is enabling this to Start with Windows (it couldn't start otherwise) to disable it, from Step 4 of this checklist:

If in doubt post back a screenshot of the maximized Window showing the suspects, following these steps to take one and then post it up using the Attach Image button in the reply box.

If you find it there should also be clues as to where to remove it further, e.g. a Registry key to copy, or a file location such as in c:/Program Files or Program Files (86) folders where it may have leftovers needing deletion. I can help you do this once I
see a screenshot.

Based on what you find and report back I may have other steps if necessary.

Authenticate bluetooth security tag windows 10

The message 'Authenticate bluetooth security tag' shows on the log-in screen. Clicking on that message goes nowhere. The Log-in is OK but, all of a sudden Bluethooth has stopped working. There are no devices now showing in Control Panel/Bluetooth Devices
and can not access Bluetooth settings.

1) Thanks in advance for suggestion/s on how to resolve this issue and (2) What is likely to have caused it in the first place?
