Windows 10: Can't remove installed voice package

Hi, under Settings > Time & Language > Speech, I was trying to remove the Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) installed voice package, but the "Remove" button is greyed out and doesn't work. I tried checking display languages to see whether I could uninstall it from there, but the only language there is English. I also tried opening up Windows PowerShell and running as admin to find the languages currently installed, but I only have English installed. Any way to get rid of the Chinese voice package?

Hi, Paulo. Thanks for help, but I already used this. This way removed a keyboard, but the voice package still exist.

I used to have 2 different English language types on my windows (US and Canada) in the language bar.

I couldn't see it in the language settings.

I found out that for English (Canada) I had only a voice package installed, but I couldn't remove it.

Looking in this and other forums, I couldn't find any solution. Finally found it myself.

** works if you have an undesired language in your language bar but you cannot see it under "preferred languages", only under "voice packages"**

Here is what I did:

1. I installed English (Canada) as another language:

Click on the language bar

Click on language preferences and "add a preferred language".

Find and install the language you cannot remove from the voice packages.

2. Restart the computer

3. Go language settings again (as explained in point 1)

4. Choose the language you want to remove and remove it. For me this is when the "remove" option became available

 

Can't remove a voice package

Hello,

This option would've help if I wanted to remove a language. However, I just want to remove the 'English Canada' voice package.

I have 'English United States' language as preferred language and I don't want to remove it.
